An Interesting Day...

So...today was a day off of work for me, and I thought it was going to be a normal day. I had plans to sleep in this morning, and when I got around to getting up I was going to clean my room...but I was going to take my time about doing it.

I was sleeping soundly when the phone started to ring, I rolled over to look at my alarm clock...and the first thought to cross my mind was, "There is no way on earth I'm leaving my bed before 7:30 a.m. to answer the phone on my day off!" So, I let it ring until the answering machine picked up, and whoever it was hung up. I thought, "Ok, obviously it's not a big deal." Five seconds later, the phone started to ring AGAIN! By this point I threw off my covers and crossed my room to the phone. I answered it with a groggy, "Hello?" and was greeted with the sound of my brother's voice, "Shannon, you need to come and pick me up. I stopped to get gas before I went to school and now my car won't start." That's right. Cole's car died this morning at the gas station right before the on ramp to I-69, and I had to go pick him up and take him to school. And may I add that this was also my first time driving on the interstate? I want to say that everything went fine: I got Cole to school, I made it back home, then I even went back up to AU a second time to bring Cole back home again after he got finished with classes. All in all, it was indeed an interesting day.

I'm sorry it's been so long...

I haven't posted in so long. I know it's not much of an excuse but I feel like I've been too busy to write much, or when I'm not busy I feel like I have nothing to write about. Funny how that's works, huh?

Anyway, because I've had some of you ask me so nicely to up-date this, here's my attempt at doing just that. As some of you already know I started a new job a few weeks ago...July 31st was my first day to be exact. I'm working at Sam's Club on Washington Street now as a new girl in the cafe. I really like the job. It pays well, the hours are fairly decent, and I really like the people I work with. Like any job it has it's moments when it isn't so glamorous, but I try my best to deal with those moments and keep a positive attitude about everything. I work 5 days a week, but it isn't technically a full-time job because I don't always work 8-hour days, though I have had my share of them. Anyway, things are going pretty well as far as the job is concerned. I'm making new friends at work and I think this is really where I need to be for right now. It's a really good feeling.

Um, what else? Oh! I went horse-back riding yesterday with my mom and dad at Fort Harrison. I had such a great time! I don't think that I could feel more free them when I'm on a horse! Plus my horse, Sam, was such a great horse. The trail that we rode on was 2.5 miles long and we rode for approximately an hour. The trail was wooded and we went down hills, up hills, around curves, through two different creeks...it was just the greatest thing I've done in a long time! We walked our horses most of the time, but when it came to going up hill Sam liked to trot, so I got to go a little faster at times. And may I just say that there isn't (at least for me) a more amazing feeling in the entire world then when I was going faster! It was so much fun, and I'm definitely wanting to go back and do it again.

Ok, that's really it for now. I'll try to write again later. Love to all!

So much to write about!

Sorry that's it's been so long since I've posted...it's been pretty crazy around here lately. Anyway, I now actually have something to write about...so, here we go!

Okay, the first thing that I wanted to report was that I've actually found a job!  After being out of work for 4 months I'm going to be starting at Sam's Club on Washington Street. Well, I still have to have the mandatory drug test and background check done before they can truly hire me...but after two interviews I have been told that I will be hired after the necessary paperwork is filed! It's going to be nice to finally start earning my own money again. Now, adjusting to a fulltime work schedule is probably going to be hard at first, but I know I'll get used to it. I'm excited about this new opportunity! It's also really cool to be working there because my brother and Aunt also work there, so I'll already have a few familiar faces at work.

Next subject: NYC! I can't believe it's already here! It seems like I've been waiting for this trip forever, and now I leave for St. Louis, Missouri, on Monday morning! I'm so excited! I really believe that this is going to be an amazing experience and I can't wait to see what God has waiting for me there! I just pray that this will draw me ever closer to my Father and that nothing will ruin this for me! I hope I won't have to deal with any teenage drama while I'm there. I hope that I only become closer with the friends I have going and that I make several new friends as well!   I can't wait!

That's all for now, I will write again later! Especially after I get back from NYC! Later, all!

Things Keep Changing...

After about a month of not posting, I'm finally back to Xanga!  You all should be happy...I hope.

Now to get down to my real post: things have been progressing rapidly, and changing incredibly. Just today my family probably went through one of the biggest changes that we've ever gone through since we originally moved my Grandma Thompson in with us. We moved my grandma out of our house today. She's now going to be living with my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Perry down in Kentucky. It's definitely going to take some getting used to, but I know God has a plan for this...it's His will, and we'll make it through this. I just want to say that I am extremely proud of the man and the woman sitting across the room from me right now. My parents. They both have sacrificed SO much to provide for their family, and I love them both so very much.

Life keeps changing, but I know it'll be OK. God has a plan for everything that's going on, and no matter how hard it gets I just have to keep trusting Him. That's all for now.  Later, all.
